Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum

The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum is now open after a three year renovation of the Andrew and Louise Carnegie Mansion, which houses the museum. With 60% new gallery space Cooper Hewitt seeks to reinvigorate the visitor experience with new, immersive, and interactive exhibitions. Be sure to see the ground floor exhibition “Designing the New Cooper Hewitt,” offering the visitors the unique opportunity to see inside the renovation process through viewing the designers’ design notes and briefs, blueprints, photos, and sketches.

When visiting Cooper Hewitt be sure to park at 1675 York Avenue.
